While the bestiary, weaponry and powerup variety is probably not so wide, iconic and satisfying like Doom's, I got really impressed by the VERY realistic-looking level design. It requires ZDoom, but is technically quite close to vanilla Doom. Recently I played through Harmony, an unofficial Total Conversion for Doom. I savor those moments because usually, when I finish a book that I think is fantastic, it is often hard to find one that gives me as much pleasure. It is rare that I read two really good books in a row. The Boys: A Memoir of Hollywood and Family by Ron Howard and Clint Howard I felt like I was getting a little behind in writing about some of my recent reads, so I thought I’d tackle three of them in a single post: The Boys by Ron Howard and Clint Howard The Big Fella: Babe Ruth and the World He Created by Jane Leavy and Better Off Dead, book 26 in the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child and Andrew Child.

A term for creating slow motion film is overcranking which refers to hand cranking an early camera at a faster rate than normal (i.e. When replayed at normal speed, time appears to be moving more slowly. Typically this style is achieved when each film frame is captured at a rate much faster than it will be played back. This can be accomplished through the use of high-speed cameras and then playing the footage produced by such cameras at a normal rate like 30 fps, or in post production through the use of software. It was invented by the Austrian priest August Musger in the early 20th century. Slow motion (commonly abbreviated as slo-mo or slow-mo) is an effect in film-making whereby time appears to be slowed down. |
